What is DriveASmile?

  • DriveASmile is a CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) initiative powered by CarTrade Foundation. It is a digital marketplace that connects family of needy people from mobility sector (taxi drivers, food delivery boys, workers of ancillary and auto factories, petrol pump workers, automobile dealer employees, etc.) with individual donors and donor organizations.
  • We help people from the mobility sector who are in need, by facilitating donations from individuals and businesses via a transparent, tech-enabled platform and processes.
  • As long as you are working as an individual in the mobility sector (taxi drivers, food delivery boys, people working at car plants, petrol pump workers, automobile dealer and their employees, etc.) and have an educational or a medical need for yourself or your family members, you can sign up and register as a Recipient.
  • Visit www.driveasmile.org and click on the 'REQUEST FOR DONATION' tab.
  • Apply on a Cause based on your need category i.e. medical or educational.
  • Add your family member’s details and upload ID and address proof documents.
  • Fill in the required information for your medical or educational needs and submit the application form.
  • Once the need application is approved, the amount will be donated to the medical/educational institution.
  • Visit www.driveasmile.org and click on the ‘CREATE A CAUSE’ tab.
  • Choose your cause category & fill the required information for donation (educational or medical cause) and submit the form.
  • Once the cause is live on our platform, recipients will start applying on this cause and then you can donate seamlessly towards their needs.

  • In India, yes, all donations are deductible under Section 80G of the Income Tax Act.
  • However, if you've contributed towards a need eligible for 80G benefits but haven't furnished your PAN and Address details within 72 hours, we will be unable to provide you with the 80G receipt. DriveASmile is obligated to promptly transfer the raised funds to the medical/educational institution and also submit donor information, including PAN and Address, to the tax authorities. Therefore, it is vital to submit these details within the designated timeframe.
